Receiving Your Giving Statement

Last updated: September 25, 2026

Organizations typically send giving statements to donors by the end of January. These statements help you track your charitable giving and can be used when filing your taxes.

What to Expect

Most organizations use Overflow to send giving statements, and some don't. Either way, the easiest way to get your statement is to contact your nonprofit directly. They'll be happy to help!

✅ Your statement will include:

  1. All confirmed donations made through Overflow

  2. Any imported gifts from your organization's previous giving platform

Personal and business Donor Profiles receive their own individual statements. (Household statements aren't currently available.)

Delivery Options

Sent Through Overflow

Statements are emailed with the subject line "Your Contribution Statement from Organization." They'll also be available to download from your Donor Profile! 📥

  • Your organization's legal name will appear on all tax documents. This may differ from the DBA you're familiar with, but it's correctly linked to their EIN.

  • If this section is blank, it may be because your organization hasn't sent statements yet (typically sent by the end of January), or they issued them outside of Overflow.

No Email on File

Your organization won't be able to send your statement electronically, which may delay delivery. Make sure your contact details are current in your Donor Profile. 📧

Mailed Copies

Please contact your organization directly to see if they're able to send one. 📬

Worth Noting

Incorrect/Missing Gifts

If any donations are incorrect or missing, please reach out to your organization directly. (Overflow can't make corrections on their behalf.)

Multiple Statements

Organizations not partnered with Overflow for both cash and noncash giving may issue more than one statement.

Donations of $250 or More

The IRS requires a written acknowledgment for any single donation over this amount, so you can use it when filing your taxes.
